Abundance

How do we reject the mentality of scarcity that permeates our marriages? There is never enough time or money to adequately honor our partners, so we spend much of our lives waiting and longing. We say, “Later, Honey, Too busy.” Or we think, “After we get caught up, we’ll get away.”  Our marriage can’t wait for the getaway. We must look at what we do have. In our shed, an ounce of ant killer left in the sack is useless; an open bag ofabundance fertilizer turns to concrete; partial cans of paint take up space. They are wasted. Compliments not given and thank yous left unsaid are lost opportunities, as well. When we adopt a mentality of abundance, we CAN find five minutes to sit side by side and cuddle or talk quietly. We CAN give a hot dog supper some style with a split of domestic champagne by candlelight. We CAN give words of praise without any discussion allowed.

Affirm your partner NOW. Waste not; want not.

Enjoy together, knee to knee.
