The City Mouse, Sylvia, took the Country Mouse, Eddie, on a walk on the Detroit riverfront, a place outside of his comfort zone. His going there at all was a gift of love. Out of the blue, he showed more flexibility than she expected by offering a river cruise. She was shocked and thrilled. Moving downriver, they passed the old Boblo Island Amusement Park excursion boat just returned from Toledo for restoration. The boat was a shell but her blown glass stairwell windows were intact. Sylvia spontaneously shared all the delight of making the trip with friends as a young teen, feeling terribly grown up. It was a tale untold for 40 years.
